    opinions on unsprung clutch

I am putting one in and I know the difference but I am curious to hear from those who have had them in their cars. Did you like it? prefer it? just want some opinions.

i'd rather run a stiff PP (like the sachs 618) and a sprung hub clutch on a DD, personally. sachs even makes a sintered sprung hub clutch (for M20s at least).

I know Jordan ran one in his silver car and hated it. Ended up changing it out I think.

Basically they are terrible for DD duty.

Clutch engagement is so smooth in these cars, I wouldn't give that up for the world.

              Twin plate clutch = sex

Anything else is mediocre (unless it's a triple plate).

i had one in my turbo car. I didn't daily the car so it didnt bother me-- it did make me it kinda crappy to drive though-- but there was no clutch slipping anymore.

                  Too expensive.

Had a local brake/clutch rebuilder build me a beefed up M20 clutch for the S52. It was nice.

okay, higher clamping force? does that make you happy?

it's well known that the sachs race PP holds 300ft/lbs on the stock clutch disk

I have a sachs high clamping force PP in my M50 car, it has nice engagement but it looks like I've been working out just my left leg for a year...

I've got a high clamping force on my already stiff PP.

                              No slipping here.
