    400 miles is a long way to go and get stranded...I wouldn't risk it.

    ^^ a few members on here have experienced it.

    OP: I rode around for a year with mine making all kinds of noise. It never seized up. I would say it would be better to fix it, but i wouldn't say its a must.

    its not common for them to seize up, but they will get VERY hot and infuse them selves to the trailing arm. then you'll need a new trailing arm, instead of just a wheel bearing.

    Any of you had a wheel bearing lock up?

    I'm leaving for a road trip on Friday (400 mile round trip) and I have loud humming in the rear when turning left. I can replace it when I get back but for now I'm concerned that It could lock up on me on the highway. How many of you have had wheel bearings lock up on you?
