Any of you had a wheel bearing lock up?

    Don't replace it before you go, then let us know how that turns out for you.

    Or, a second option. Don't be a dipshit, and fix a MAJOR part of your car before you take it on a roadtrip.

      i could here mine going out way before a normal joe could! my wife and brother in law thought i was crazy but im just One with the car! that being said it only realy noise for a week or two. overall i drove for a month or two but it wasnt that bad, when it got bad i limited trip TIMEs and replaced it the time driven and speed make it hot.

          Rear wheel bearing on my car made a humming noise for a good few months and then one night on my way home from a friends, I was on the freeway doing about 70 and the bearing completely locked up. Felt like I hit a huge bump in the road as the entire rear end dipped.

          Luckily I was able to keep the car under control and get off at the next exit. Once it locked up it sounded like there were rocks tumbling around in my wheel. Not an experience I ever want to go through again.

          Word of advice...replace it if there is any uncertainty.

            It's not worth the stress wondering constantly when it will give you trouble.

            Usually things break like this on a really busy highway, it's cold, dark, and rainy/snowy.
            Your car is giving you a warning sign....listen to it.
