Did they stay chrome or did they change colors? Who did it for you?

I'm thinking a color like this will be cool:

    1993 325ic Schwarz/Natur
    1991 318is Black/Black - Slicktop - Project s52
    1989 Alpine White/Black M3 S52
    1988 Henna/Pearl M3 <3

Hi they stayed shiney but you can also do them in black and other colours. I had them done at Kool Coat.

Those are the coolest m42 headers I've ever laid eyes on.. so wish I would've/could've done something like this.

From the research I've done, ceramic coating is the cat's meow. Since stock m42 headers are stainless, I was torn on coating them at all. Because of the non-stainless flanges - I felt obligated to do something - after having them blasted.. they were coated with that 1500+ grill paint. My expectation is that the grill paint will generally keep corrosion at bay and look "OK" for another ~60K/4-5years.

You should do something like jet-hot. Totally worth it. You can pick a few different types of coating you would want. Had it on my old car, and if you wanna see a pic let me know. Here is the link to the site: http://www.jet-hot.com/

About $140 if I remember correctly. Supposed to reduce engine bay heat. I also did intake mani.

I've heard about Jet-Hot, but I'm wondering if its worth it. I mean, sure cooler engine bay temps are cool, but if I can get them powder coated locally for almost nothing. I just want something that looks better.

I bought some black fg header wrap for mine, but I haven't applied it yet. Bought it mostly for aesthetics as I'm currently painting the whole engine right now.

those sure look pretty but those collectors are crap. stock or ebay?

the only thing worth doing is ceramic. paint is going to flake off, wraps look like shit and tend to fall apart after a couple years, and powder coating obviously wasn't meant for this purpose.

I used high temp paint on my choppers drag pipes and it came out great, hasn't discolored or peeled off, and was way cheaper than powder or ceramic coating. Thats my opinion of course.

Personally, it was worth it to me. I had them done on my old car and it made the header look WAY better than before. Also, the benefits of it being cooler temps was worth it as well.

Buy some proper headers and be done with it. To me it seems like your trying to polish a turd!

What are some proper headers you would recommend? And don't say ebay, because ebay and proper shouldn't be in the same sentence. I emailed jet hot, so we'll see what kind of price they give me.

I would go with ceramic coating or high heat exhaust paint
