NO clue on other products, I tend not to venture outside of Cisco's domain since I got burnt by NetGear/Bay back in the day.

    Im now E30less.

A batch of bum switches left me red faced with a fwe clients. They fixed it but it was my first and last experience with them. It was just too risky when people were willing to pay Cisco prices for 5-9s. Besides, I know how to work Cisco stuff. Upgrading and the like.

You should be fine, it will be knocking you back to the older firmware version but onlocked. I was running 2.07 before also. You will loose the ability to run the AP as a client but if you only have one AP then what is the point of that?

You can, and should, backup your existing firmware just in case. Its so easy to do.

wait do you "run" a router like you would "run" a sticker on your car?

I would say so since a router is an operational device. It is running, in my basement at the moment.

interesting, but would "running" a sticker be the same?

I've been running that firmware on my WRT54G for awhile, just upgraded it to the one Ryan posted

Much better, pushing 100mW on mine as I don't need more power, works great and the advanced features are awesome for my network

has more capabilities then my damn Cisco Ap

Yeah, judging by my place now when to move to the smaller place on campus it should work at the jacuzi. 8)
