        Burns out all the carbon. Should have used distilled and sucked it through the vacuum hose, but no biggie.

                  The key is to just let the motor take small sips of the water while keeping it revved up. If you let it continuously suck a ton up, then yes, you risk hydrolocking it.

                      interesting. approximately how much distilled water would do the trick? would this be better than, worse than, or on par with seafoam?

                        Should yield the same result as seafoam.

                        I'd use probabaly a litre or so.

                            I'm thinking I may someday have to resort to a trick like that with my MkV GTI. Damned direct injection doesn't splash the intake vanes or vales with fuel so instead they get coked up with oil vapor. I'm running a hacked 150psi checkvalve, in line, supplementing the PCV, but I -know- that's not completely preventing the problem.
