Sliding on Ice (lots of pics)

The Rocky Mountain Chapter of the BMW CCA had an event saturday about car control on ice. It was held at Georgetown, CO (just past Idaho Springs) on the lake. If you have ever been skiing at Loveland or anywhere past there I can guarantee you have seen it.

    Here are some pictures, enjoy

I have more pictures of my e30 and can get some of the e28 if you guys haven't seen enough ;)

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

In one of your pictures, there was a rather large crack in the ice :o Cool pics, I bet it was kinda weird to drive onto the ice like that. I bet you had a lot of fun. How did you make the panorama shot? Just take a few side by side and stick them together?

my camera has an option so you take a picture and you line up the outline of the previous picture up for the next one and it came with software on the computer that automatically lines it up for ya, heres one more for ya since you asked (about 3 pictures)

I'm just going to make points and get it over with:

-I think I've seen your car in cap hill before...very nice

-it's disgusting how little snow we've had

-I thought they only allowed AWD cars...?

-What kind of camera? The pics are awesome!
                  - skipping the E36 generation completely -

-you may have seen it, I bought it this summer from a guy my dad knew and i think he lived off 6th avenue so its more than likely.

-agreed, and i am in colorado springs now for winter :( even less snow usually

-nope, they encourage BMWS and you have to be a member of the BMW CCA but you can bring whatever car you want, studs or not. plenty of cars there, 135is, an m3, e28 535, you get the idea

                      - its just a nikon coolpix point and shoot, in sport mode, with enough light it is great but some of them were zoomed so the quality goes down obviously

                        Whoa...that looks like fun.

We were up in Denver last week and drove out that way...we went past that lake and saw a bunch of cops out there, i guess they were practicing driving on the ice. Didn't know they would let anyone out there.
