We were up in Denver last week and drove out that way...we went past that lake and saw a bunch of cops out there, i guess they were practicing driving on the ice. Didn't know they would let anyone out there.
yeah it pretty neat, lots of car clubs try to use it

    my brothers e28:

The story on the hood damage is I was driving back home a while back and the roads were icy, and this guy decided to make a U-turn in front of me after moving over into a turn lane and failing to signal until last minute.
I couldn't stop or steer completely out of the way and hit him.
The bumper was too low to do anything so the hood took the damage.
I was pretty dang bummed about it and feel really dumb. This is my first "collision" with another car since I've been driving and I feel so dumb.
Had to grab a replacement grille, and will need to get the hood replaced. Have one in store for just that.
The only decent part about all of it was that the hood had peeling paint and dents from hail damage.

and a drift by me caught on camera:

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

Very cool. But those winter cars have way too much ground clearance.
