How much would you pay for this car?

So I am looking for a car to drive around school for the rest of this semester, then at the end of the year, I will be passing the car down to my younger sister (who, by the way, is into E30s :P )

Which means it has to be automatic. Anyways, I am obviously not going to pay $4k for it, so I want to know what you guys think of this car, how much would you guys be willing to pay for this car, based solely on the information given in this advertisement?

    Thanks!

      $2,400

$1,500 is a kick in the nuts to this guy. Who knows though, maybe he'll take that.

Yes the hard part is the "around here." In California where BMWs fall from the sky clean ones can be found for 35 cents but in areas where they were not as popular and often the winters ruin them good examples fetch a bit more.
              Im now E30less.

you should be able to easily get this guy down to around 3000, which i think is a fair price for a car with 150,000 miles and appears to have a exterior and interior in decent condition.

i would recomend taking the car to a mechanic, getting it up on a lift, making a list of things that are wrong with it and then make an offer based on that. if the guy doesnt have a record of the last timing belt change, thats 300 dollars right there that will be an expense to you if you buy the car (he will probably assume you get a mechanic to do it). additional things to look for are signs that its been in an accident, how soon before youll need to buy new tires, etc.

i was able to talk the guy i bought my car from down 700 dollars by doing this.

                hope this helps..

I sold cars for 3 years before moving on to what I do now... they have a VERY MINOR overhead in everything used they sell. I made more money on used vehicles than new.

They'll tell you that they have $600 clean-up and detail on it, etc... kick 'em in the nut sack and tell em' MAXIMUM you pay is $2000, or $2400 OTD (tax and fees included).
