I was out the other day running errands with my girlfriend and I noticed a really clean 318 a few spaces down from where I parked. It looked like a late 80s pretty much bone stock but in really good shape. I walked across the parking lot and noticed that this young kid walked over to it (maybe 16) I looked back and said "hey bro nice car" and gave him a thumbs up. He looked back at me with an angry face and said " yeah whatever man" and got in it and slammed the door. My girlfriend and I just laughed. I guess he thought i was being sarcastic. Which is sad because his parents probably gave him it as a first car and he just thinks and old crappy beamer. I have really grown o appreciate old BMW's guess he just didnt know he had a great car.

Yeah I've learned to feel it out before I say something. I've been shot down to many times by non-enthusiast e30 owners.
The worst one was a 92 or so m-tech cabby w/ factory white weaves, she said it always breaks down. I told her I would buy it from her half joking then she laughed and drove off.
sometimes work the gas station at costco, see some very sweet rides.
sometimes people spend 10 minutes talking to me, and some just want to be left alone. It's my feeling that if you drive a porsche gt3 you have an obligation to talk about it with me!Last edited by T Verdier; 02-02-2010, 04:40 PM.

My teenage daughter (ask for pics and I'll break your legs) is terribly embarrassed to ride around in my E30, although not bad enough to refuse taxi service. What's funny is that my old Echo didn't bother her. Maybe if I fix the squeaks and rattles that will help. I tried to explain that the car used to be quite a status symbol for high school students, but that didn't cut any ice.
