    STUPID? all e30 front struts the same

    i thow the ix is different but i got some billy sports from my 85eta. will they fit my 90is? thanks

    There's a diameter difference between early and late cars but I don't know what the cutoff was. I'm sure someone will chime in with it though!

      84 - 85 318i have different strut diameter [47 vs 51mm IIRC]

      M3's have a different knuckle. Otherwise they are the same

            and you can always switch the strus housings to accomodate the larger struts onthe 318 correct?

              Early 325e's also have the smaller struts.

              Yeah, if you install the larger strut housings on an early car, you can use the larger strut inserts. (if that's what you're asking)........

                so that would be a no. i cannot install my 85 struts in my 90 e30 unless i change the strut housing also. then i'd hafta delete the abs since have abs hole in the 90 and not in the 85?.

                            What strut cartridges do you have? Model number so this silly question doesn't get all convoluted.

                            Never mind what you need is the strut collar that holds a 45mm strut in a 51mm strut. Bilstein sells this sized gland nut.
