dumb question, how to clean a flat screen monitor

its getting dusty, and i tried wiping ot off with a towel. dust is still there just in clumps now. im not sure if i should wet the towel down or now, seeing as its not glass, and im not sure how poreous (sp?) the surface is.

haha.. use some glass cleaner, spray and wipe away. it's not a porous surface.

I have heard that using any kind of chemical on a flat screen is bad. BUt seeing how no one has piped up here with that same advice, maybe it is just a myth.

          :)

            Again google.

Dont use anything with amonia it will possibly make the screen foggy and yellowish.

            Hence the diluted isopropyl alcohol.

Try THIS if u are too lazy to try google for yourself.

I just use a cotton cloth with a little water on it.

                Easy there google freak.

I love google just as much as the next guy, and use the hell out of it more often than not. But there is not need to get cranky on the guy, or me, for discussing it here. There is something to be said for getting information from a source you know and trust as opposed to random searches on google. If you have a problem with him coming here first for the advice, don't answer his question.

I asked a simple question to avoid a possible $300 mistake.

So add something useful, or just shut the hell up.
