      The s14 requires a lot of preventative maintenance and if you can afford the car you better have the money to keep it maintained. In comparison, the m20 can run well past 200k mile if you just change the oil and watch all the fluids... regular e30 are obviously much more simple and easy to own. I have a feeling that the e46 m3 will be looked at in the same light in 17 years, especially considering all the issues the s54 has had being a new motor.

        Yeah, no kidding, I wouldn't get an E46 unless it was covered under warranty. If they're having this many problems already, in 15 years they might not even be around!!

              I wonder how much I could sell y e30 M for.

              88 w/ 120k miles and it's very clean.

                depends on mods, paint, service history, receipts... i'd say 15-17k wouldn't be a terrible starting point... but it's pretty dependant
