    California registration costs

How much are you guys paying yearly for registration/smog etc. for your e30?

I ask because i have been here for 5 years and still have my colorado tags, and license for that matter. I was pissed because mine went up this year from $25 to 61, but I hear that is still good compared to what californians have to pay.

dunno what your used to paying but im used to paying a lot more than that on previous/other cars. i thought 68$ wasnt bad...

oh and smog test ran me 55$, and you have to do it every 2 years.

so you only have to do smog every 2 years?

thats not too bad, but I would rather not at all.

do the reg costs differ by county?

I paid around $62 if I remember right.

FWIW, one of the fees they charge you is tax-deductible. It's one of the smallest fees, but every little bit helps, I guess...

$72 for the cabrio, just paid it. The tax deductible portion was $10. Smog was $38 out the door at my favorite smog shop.

Jesus, I just updated my tags for my 09 Jetta and it ran me $68. I'm kind of scared to see what it's going to cost me to register it in Cali now.
                      If in doubt... Flat out
