Did I just r3v my car?

I am fixing a floor rust issue and as I was grinding out a hole near the transmission tunnel (about two inches away on the drivers side, about a foot back from the pedal) I noticed it began to get very difficult to grind through. I eventually banged out the floor pan and noticed there is about a quarter inch of thicker metal below it. There is now two slits running perpendicular to the cars movement and one slit running parallel (kind of like a rectangle but the slits aren't touching.) Is this the frame? How fucked is my car?

While chiseling a stubborn chunk of floor tar out of my trunk, I out a nice little slice in the floor. Glob of JB Weld later, we're back in action

You're telling me you just cut through the frame of your car? God bless.

I'm not exactly sure if I cut the frame but I think I might of. How do I go about fixing this?

I'll be honest and say I have absolutely no idea. I have never heard of this before.

                God speed my child.

Each slit is about a sixteenth of an inch wide (size of a metal cutoff wheel) and the the ones perpendicular to the cars movement are about a 1/4" long but they only go all the way through in a small area. The parallel slit is the same width and is about 2" long, and in between the two other slits. It is like a rectangle that is not fully connected. I will take pics as soon as I find my camera.

I'm going to take a punt and say its the extra bit of metal put in the transmission tunnel for the shatter shield. Supposedly stops an out of control clutch/flywheel assembly from entering your car. Weld teh slits back up. Then put your new metal in for the rust repair. Weld it all up, prime, paint and your done.

Dont forget to paint from under neath the car as well.
