so i am at the wreckers and there are several CFC 325i with 885 heads . if i was going to rebuild it anyways, is the head worth getting or will it be totally fucked from the silica sand they use to seize them?

yea, just the head.
i have enough motors to take care of what i need.
i still have to port and polish the head, have it welded for boost, THEN have it rebuilt. if it is not totally screwed (f'ed up cam bearings) then this would be perfect. there is no sense in me spending $200-$300 for a head to take it apart and do all that to it.seien Sie größer, als Sie erscheinen

same here, if the journals are shit, then the head is shit as well. I wouldnt think it that hard to score the journals enough to make them useless, unless you have it in mind to sleeve the bearing surface somehow.
