some sort of sticky double sided tape. and yeah, a heat gun should melt it right off, but you'll need to clean up the sticky left behind.

Also, there will be a ghost imprint of the numbers left behind because the sun never got to that part of the paint to fade it some. Not a big deal but something you might want to know.

I figgered that.......its not a show car...more of a sleeper track car. But I wonder if the "ghost" will make it a bit ghetto. Most will not know significance of 330i on back of an e 30.......

but I cant wait for e36 /e46M3/GT3 owners at the track asking me...."whats in there?"

Im tired of sniffing their exhaust on the twisties....

Either leave it be to throw people off, or take it off completely to keep ppl guessing. Polishing compound should clean it up well and probably hide the ghosting depending on the color.l

you can use a credit card(or card of any kind) it works very well, and fast to get emblems off. they are stuck on by double sided foam tape. you can buy some 3m makes, its good stuff. there are different thicknesses though, get it thin.

the best thing to do is use a steamer after to clean up the leftover adhesive it also works really ell for the initial removal)

If you want the sleeper look, a badge announcing a 3.0L is precisely what you don't do. Just leave it off, or get a euro 316i badge. Those are your only options.

                              316d > 316i ;)

Why are you changing the badge out for a higher number on a sleeper?

Hate to break it to you, but your car will never keep pace with a GT3, not unless you nearly double the power you're putting down and ride on huge Hoosiers.

However I have had a 540i owner ask me what the hell I'd done to my car. I think his was broken. :p
