Anyone use the "California Water Blade"

I got one for Xmas and just used it the other day. I thought it sucked - wasn't getting the car all that dry.

Is there some special way to use it or something?

What about the "California Car Duster" - is this thing any good?

    TIA

I personally wouldnt drag something like a blade accross my paint. My friends dad uses a window squegee(sp) to dry off his whole car, . My mr. clean autodry does a damn good job of drying off my car, so thats what I use.

As for the California Duster, it works pretty well. Just keep your car clean and a good waxing on it helps. I try not to use it below my door mouldings, as I dont want to get it clogged with dirt, but i havent had any problems with it.

      HTH.

I use a water blade. It isn't supposed to dry your whole car. You'll still need a towel/shammois. It just gets the majority of the water off for you.

It's good for getting the big drops on your roof and hood/ trunk but not much else.

Okay, I'll used the blade and the absorber together.

                  Thanks.

Mostly use mine on the glass so I don't get waterspots. Will leave fine scratches on the paint. Been using absorbers for several years now, and try to keep 2 of them handy. One for the body and one for the dirty parts, wheels, lower valence etc.

Precisely...leaf blower is the only way to dry.

If your a detailing freak dont use it... There is no way you can get all the dirt off your car. Thats why use clay the car after you wash it, to get the rest of the dirt tottally off. Now when your dragging that blade across your paint your scraping all that dirt around.

I use that blade, it's good for getting most of the water off then I use a towel to dry the rest of it. The blade just makes it easier to dry with the towel and makes your towel last longer before it's saturated. I've never noticed any scratches from the blade.

Go out and look at your paint on a sunny day. You'll see 'em.

I always clean the blade before each use and use a synthetic chamois to get the rest. The blade isnt leaving any scratches that werent there before I guess.
