    Even my Mother still drives a 5 speed! She has a first gen Miata with 29K on it. When she comes to visit she can take any car here that is convenient.

      I disagree. 1st gear in the older F250s I've driven has plenty of stump pulling power.

      OBD II can have great throttle response. There's nothing inherently bad about it. It's just that a lot of bad shit was done to a lot of cars around the same time.
      I'm not saying ODBII caused it, It just seems to have come about at the same time. Mostly on American vehicles I'm sure.

        probably only in north America.


        In NorthAfrica they dont even offer Automatics....

        It's because people here are to lazy to use the 3rd pedal and the shifter.
