if you want an unbiased opinion, think of it yourself. most people here don't like DSM's. not to say that you shouldn't ask for opinions, but they will probably be somewhat biased.

DSM's are good cars.... some of the best bang for the buck cars.....

DSMtalk was a much better forum... but they seem to have shut down.

1k is a good deal as long as you have a rather large savings acount or will be able to fix it on your own.....

the main problem with them is the transmission.... but if you are nice to it you shouldn't have any problems (mainly second gear syncro)

oh and they are fairly easy to work on despite being AWD chaging the tranny is faily simple ~4 hour job.... 2 if you are in a hurry, and there isnt any rust or damaged fasteners

As far as having a knack for breaking when you don't want them to, DSMs are awesome at it.

Believe me, I have one. Hence, I'm selling it and going back to an E30 as fast as possible. The boost was fun while it lasted, but I can't stand to fix this thing every 500 miles.

"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."

Well all the local turbo guys seem to have chronic problems. They are really cheap power though. Chris was running 14lbs on his stock motor until his flywheel exploded.
                Im now E30less.

A good friend of mine has 3 of them between him and his dad. 2 of the 3 have big turbos and whatnot and are pretty fucking fast. It is a good thing they have 3 of them though, they have to keep a rotation going so one can be in the shop while the other 2 are running.
