I have a jensen unit in my car... I regret getting it. Biggest annoyances:
- when you turn off the car mid-song and turn it back on, it'll start from the beginning of the song
- when you start the car with volume of 0 and turn it up, it'll take like 3 seconds before the sound will kick in. One time I turned up the volume almost all the way, then the sound came on like 3 seconds later and almost blew my speakersComment

stopped by 6ave on the way back from work yesterday
saw a sweet head unit Pioneer DEX-P99RS
it's pricey, but you can pick up it's predecessor, the Pioneer Premier DEH-P800PRS or DEH-P880PRS for under $200 on eBay.
it looks amazing in person, interface is pretty straightforward, and the 2 knobs look OEM. supposedly the SQ is supposed to be phenomenal. the only downside is that you can't change the illumination color to match the amber and bluetooth is an add-on option.Comment

No such thing as an E30 harness, you gotta get custom on it.
What car with what level stereo package you got?Comment

Base model car makes it kinda easier: pull your fader out and unplug it. Unwrap the fader harness until you see the junction point where all the speaker grounds join: seperate them and you have all 4 corners.
Remember black stripes on a colored wire (not brown) are positive in BMWs.Comment
