Iain, This is the first time in my memory (and I'm old, don't you know) that we had hail that big in the CBD and inner suburbs, we've had lots of hail that blanketed the streets like snow but not that big.

Sydney, on the other hand, if I recall correctly had at least two in as many years in the mid 90's as well as the late 80's, causing countless damage to cars and bringing us some wacky soft top convertions, so I put it to you that Sydney sucks the big one.

Jesus H. Christ! Now that's some serious hail. It hurts when the car takes one for the team, but honestly it looks like you're lucky you didn't get beemed in the head with one of those vile little fuckers.

I just spent a week in sydney recently, and holy shit what a nightmare. I actually hate sydney. Such a horrible place to drive, the weather was no good, the streets are full of hookers and tranny's, and the opera house looks old as fuk. Infact the only thing I liked about sydney was how much more it made me appreciate melbourne.

The above statement may be a mild exageration. But still Melbourne > Sydney

Oh yes they were, remember those two storms brought us the VL Commodore and the Honda Prelude convertibles due to the hail damage.

For our friends from the US, think of a mid sized RWD sedan about the size of a Chevy Lumina with a Baur style roof convertion and the same for the Honda Prelude, the Honda sorta pulled it off but the sedan...Fail.

And as for Sydney, I could live there but only if I was armed with a M4A1 and a Colt para straped to my left leg while driving a APC.

BTW, with the right dipping sauce, dead dogs nuts are yummy.

Erm... the last 2 (97 and 03) weren't that big. The good thing about the Melbourne storm was that it took a whole bunch of R33 Skylines, S13/14/15 Silvias, shitbox WRXs and VL Commodores off the road. Hopefully, this will force the muzzas, the bogans, the sik boiz and the JDM tuggers into walking and catching the bus (or being caught in the crossfire of your gangland war)

Well, we all know whose fault that is (Hilin Cahrk - even though she/he's not your PM any more, I think we can safely blame her/him/it)

You call it a gangland war, I call it ethnic cleansing.:D

Your slum could use a nuke strike and you and I both know that there are more Skylines, silvias in your neck of the woods than down here.

I used to work for Auto Salon - the worst Silvias and Skylines in Oz were ALWAYS in Melbourne. ;) Same goes for WRXs, though we're not far behind thanks to the Osman Bros.

You guys did make up for that with some of the most inventive numberplates, though... CUFROF, RU34SX, Q2CDIS are just a few highlights off the top of my head.

Full marks to your police, though. And to the crims taking each other out. Was highly entertaining for us.
