I also dont know if the driveshaft is different M10 to M20, the length might be adjustable but I'm just not sure. Also, the rear end gear ratio is probably different M10 to M20. Again hoping someone in the know will chime in on those two potential problems.

Also, I think he's trying to use the M20 he's got and not source another motor just yet.

            my options are:

            1) m20 swap or
            2) replace the m10

that is it. i am not interested in any other swaps. i have the m20 and have located a m10. i know there are a ton of great swaps out there, but i am only interested in the 2 options listed above.

i was leaning the m20 way, but after talk it over with the old man i may just go with the m10 and sell the m20. at least that way i can recoup some of the money i have put down the drain on this project.

Dont know what it might cost to ship but a guy in CT has a complete M42 w/ trans harness and ecu for $250.

Although keeping the stock M10 will keep the car nice and original and probably create the fewest headaches!

m10 to m30 is much easier than m10 to m20, less stuff needed.

if he is gonna pay 250 for an m10, I bet he could shell out 400 for an m30.

You'd think so considering the M10 without boost (from what I've heard) is a bit of a slouch. I had a hard time when my buddy dropped $200.00 for another complete m20 head and intake combo after he broke a t-belt. Then again, I'm a poor guy 80% of the time...

I had an m10 car. There is no reason to do that to an e30 if you have a choice.
