    A 'freshen up' doesn't mean they put a hg on it, it is possible that all it needs is a new one. Maybe p.o. did the cam/drank/vc/oil pan seals. Good rule of thumbs is receipts or it didn't happen.

        Lesson learned. I had not considered doing just the HG.

            If you have to select from another m10 or m20, do an m20 swap. m10 is a gutless wonder w/o boost. I would not even bother doing an m4x swap, not even worth the hassle imho. With m20b25 your car should be faster than a factory e30 325i since it will still be lighter.
