So there it is, the original messaging between the seller and myself copied and pasted directly from my private messaging inbox. My words in bold and his are italicized. I did send him a picture of a bunny with a pancake on its head to end the dispute. So much for PRIVATE messaging.

I wish I had seen this earlier. Wether you think my offer was insultingly low or not, I think we can all see where the seller went out of line. There was no need to act like a jackass towards me after the original PM. I wont rationanlize my reason for asking you if you would take $80 shipped, its simple math, you'll figure it out someday. Anyways, work on maturing and being able to appropriately interact with people that may or may not first impress you, there are a lot of both in the world. Good luck with it.

Im having a hard time understanding how people are seeing that as such a lowball offer? I think $60 or less may have been a lowball offer to be offended by. Anyways, you need to stay out of this thread. Thanks.

i edited the original post, and deleted the screenshot of the back and forth, because as a few guys pointed out, it WAS out of line, and uncalled for. there wasnt a need for it.

i was already fired up over some jackass wasting an entire day of mine, with a car i'm selling, and i overreacted...

was your offer lame? yes.
why? because i was already selling the springs at a huge loss, and it already was a killer deal, without you needing to try to squeeze a little more out of me.

was it lame of me to snap at you right away? yes. i shouldnt have... it was stupid.

20% off a low-cost item is not lowballing, especially when you already offered them at $80 picked up. You overreacted, then made it public.

You're in for a long road buying and selling if you're going to put a price out there without stating that it is FIRM and then getting butthurt when anyone "lowballs" you with what the rest of the world would consider a decent first negotiating volley.

Three pieces of advice for you.

1. Never sell anything on Craigslist. Your world will come undone.
2. If you ever buy a car at a dealership, take someone with you who understands the way negotiation works.
