I know someone who really wants one of these, I think the other body style of a few years ago was more apealing. What do I know though? I drive an E30.
Mk3 was the worst one lol. Its the one they made with a heavy ass vr6 in the front and completely went luxury with the GTi. No GTi soul whatsoever. They stopped making real GTi's in 1992. Mk5 GTi is actually going to bring back the spirit of the original with modern technology and safety included. Not to mention a 2.0 16v FSI Turbo The hot hatch is back.
I like most of that design except the taillights. Everything else I can feel.
"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."
Not sold on the looks of the mk5 although it is slowly growing on me. It does look to be a real drivers car though which is more than can be said about mk3's and 4's. It does appear that the GTi is finally back and when everyone gets used to the styling I think it's gonna be a big hit and not just within the VW community.

I agree. I love the styling. I loved it since it first came out. I think its great. The jetta I dont like so much because it has the same front end. Thats blasphemy. Jetta should have a different front end. Something like a Phaeton headlight set up would have looked cool.
It looks like a mini minivan - a hybrid between the Civic Si, Honda Odyssey and Toyota Matrix.
Nah, this is the mini-minivan, the Golf Plus:
I'd actually like to see VW bring either the Lupo or Polo GTi's to the US market, that would be a neat Mini Cooper competitor. A Lupo GTi would be a killer autox car.
