Who has welded reinforcements on their subframe?

Some of you may have seen the sway bar I built. I have purchased bushings, brackets and reinforcements from IE. I'm not looking for threads about other people using this setup and I can't find shit.

The welding won't be a problem. I just don't even really know what I'm getting from IE. The pictures on their website suck ass, and I can't find any pictures on here.

So has anyone used their reinforcements?

I did a metal plate that replaces the clip at the front of the sway bar mount with the rear subframe bolt, then drilled a new hole so the sway bar bracket is bolted in using Energy brackets (basically now they have a flat plate to mount to)

just double up the triangle of metal where the sway attaches to the trailing arm. i'm sure I have pictures somewhere.

I'm going to do something like that when I have all that shit out in the rear to do the subframe and TA bushings.

Luke is describing the same setup used by UUC on the Swaybarians, I'll see if I have any pics of it when I get home.

As well as doubling up the TA mount in the rear I put a gusset on the underside. Doubling up the metal will just prolong how long it takes to break. A gusset will prevent it from breaking under most normal circumstances. I will dig up some pictures later.

For the front I added another tab on the front of the sway bar mount that picked up on the crossmember bolt. I then cut the little bent tab off, so My front swaybar is located with two bolts instead. I also welded a bunch of gussets on the swaybar mount itself and on the subframe.

Then I added some plates and welded the nut on cause im lazy:



Then i modified the swaybar mount. The problem is with big bars and poly bushes that are very stubborn, getting the taggy bit of metal int he subframe and around and then bolting the mount down is very hard. So i straightened this piece and cut it:



Then i added a tab opposite the factory one that picks up on the crossmember mounting bolt (IE very freaking strong):



Added some gusseting plates on both sides and had something like so:

robert (peerless) did my full TMS set while i was overseas. no issues with it so far.

I'm currently adding gussets to my motor mount tabs and I'll double up on the front mounts too. I have ST sways which come with the flat plate too but I figure a little extra metal can't hurt... My motor mount tabs were a problem though, the S50 nearly tore one off!
