    Ultimate Diving Board Delete

Got my 325 R3Ved today by some red-light running, hit and running dipshit. Damage isnt too bad, but it nearly ripped the rear diving board clean off the car. Pushed the shock absorber through the trunk floor, kinked the rear license plate area, and busted my pass rear tail light and housing. Ill post pics in the morning when there is some light.

I did file a police report (for all the good it will do) mostly to cover my own ass. I wont bother getting insurance involved, as they will just total out the car, give me pennies on the dollar for it, and jack my rates for the privledge of dealing with them. I figure about 100 or so in parts, and 3 hrs or so labor to fix this shit.

the thought crossed my mind, but it depends on finding a good late model bumper locally first.

As promised here are the pics of the carnage

So looking at that, im guessing you saw him so you floored it? Youre super lucky he didnt get more of that rear quarter than he did, or then the car really wouldve been a pain back to original shape. I just cant believe it just grabbed the bumper and thats like it! Crazyness. Good luck fixin her back up!

I was mostly through the intersection, and never really saw the fucker. (they came from behind a few other cars that decided to make a turn) Half a millisecond earlier, and it would have been headed for the junkyard, that is for sure. Red-Light running assclowns should be able to be executed on sight

so the other driver did not have insurance?
get an estimate from a bodyshop and turn it in to their insurance company and get some $ towards the repair. i know that you don't want to deal with the insurance co, but they can total it and you can buy it back on the condition that it DOES NOT have a salvage title.

that way you don't have to totally come out of pocket for THEIR breaking the law and thye don't get off scott free.

                        where did it happen?

The other shitwit didnt stop, so it was a hit and run, so any insurance will be on me (this part sucks)

I can weld, that isnt the issue. Gathering parts is gonna be the pain in the ass. The rear bumber surround is gonna be the biggest issue, being as the markers are different from an 86.

Im not sure the damage is as bad as it looks, about 5 minutes with a hammer and an old trailer hitch ball (as a drift), and its probably 85% back to where it needs to be around the taillight area. The bumper mount will be a bit of a challenge, but luckily, it hit in a way that separated the welds more than anything else. Only the passenger side is fucked up, the shock absorber on the drivers side sheared off at the housing, so minimal or no damage there. The order of the day will be Hammer, Weld, Seam Seal, and Forget that it happened. I have more of a challenge on the front corner, where I have to replace some panel parts. By the time i'm done with this damn thing, it will be like the 6 million dollar E30 (we can make it better!!)

You should support your city in installing red light cameras then.
