    Sound deadening...

For people who have removed their sound deadening in their trunk...supposedly weighs around 50 lbs...how much louder is it? If you've only removed the trunk...it should be not noticeable in the cabin right? Also...i have a 12" sub...which prob weighs around the same weight as the deadening material. My question is will i regret taking it out. Will it be unbearably loud. I have exhaust also.

You would not notice a real difference in sound. If you have a full interior, the less likely to hear a difference. I had removed my trunk tar, and rear seats and I could hear the diff more, but not by much.

You really don't need to take it out though. What are you looking for? Weight reduction to make your car handle better? If so, I would make the sub easily removable from the car for the races and such. The car is balanced from the factory to begin with. You will not notice a difference with it out.

i've heard that its not really sound deadening, its there to balance the car. apparently cars that didnt come with AC from the factory, do not have it.

thats what i READ on this site.

        not my personal thoughts.

Okay...well in that case...then i need to even back out the balance...because I have taken out my A/C and added a sub in the rear....= less weight up front and more in back..to my math...out of balance by 100ish lbs....why not deplete the subs extra weight gains with taking out the tar. that way it wont be too much of a difference in weight. And i'm working on a new subbox to be taken in and out easily.

from what i read...I'm pretty set on removing it now. The next task will be to get my box out. I screwed my self...to prevent it sliding around...I realized ive gone overboard on HD velcro to keep it down. I can't get it out!!! Thank god I haven't gotten a flat in the last 2 years.
