    Drivin' Cross Country

So! I am moving, yep. Leaving our nations capitol for cheaper rent and more humidity!

I am headed back to Texas ya'll. (the end of march is move date)

SO, a couple things. I am planing on driving. (I think) I will have a U-haul (panel truck) to move my stuff and can't decide if I should trailer the e30 or drive it...

    Opinions?

Additionally, I am going to be determining my route shortly here, and am wondering if those of you who will be on my route, would be willing to assist me should I have any mechanical breakdowns. I am a bit worried traveling such a long distance with out an ample supply of mechanically talented testosterone. It will be me and two other girlfriends helping in the move. eeek...

I will be editing this post shortly to include my route. But I am pretty sure we will be traveling south through VA (duh), through Knoxville, down through KY? then MS, AL...and so on.

So, let me know if you are on the way and willing/able to help in an emergency:

    Thanks guys!!! (and girls)

PS Who all is in Houston? Where in Houston are you? I will be in the Woodlands.

Drive it, but fix your rear subframe and change your timing belt

Trailer it and get it fixed in Houston where it is cheaper.

I trailered my F150 behind a U-Haul when I moved from Fresno to L.A. No problems. Be a lot easier with a little e30. Good luck.

I just noticed the 400.00 deal Why? for the cost of leaving the truck & trailer in Houston? That seems really high it was 150.00 including miles (way less than D.C. to Houston) but still. Is that the total cost or just a fee for the trailer?

I say drive the e30 and have one of your friends drive the uhaul. And if you go near Louisville, KY... I am about an hour north of there. If you have any problems around there just give me a call and I will see what I can do. PM me if you would like the phone number. Have fun Kristin. Should be a blast!

Where's the "Have Jordan come out and fix it all, then drive to Texas" option?

and whatever happened to Nashville, TN plan? anyway, Knoxville is where Drew is at aka randomtask37.

You know what, that $400 was the quote I got for DC to OR. SOOO, maybe it is much less. I should have gotten a quote before I opend my mouth. I will do that now actually.

          :)

edit: $334 for the flat bed tralier to tow. So I wasn't too far off.

I bet that is mostly for the 3000 miles fo Oregon. Should be closer to 200 to Texas including the trailer.

The "Have Jordan come out and fix it all, then drive to Texas" option is actually the

"Move to Texas THEN have Jordan come out and fix it all" option! ;) (I am not sure he knows this is the plan though so sshhh, i want to surprise him!)

He and I discussed that last night, March is just way too short of notice for a trip that big.

And Nasvhille isn't rent free. :) DC has eaten away at my pocket strings for 5 years too long. I want to save some serious money. My parents offered to put me up in the guest house and send me back to school. I feel a bit looser-ish doing this at 30, BUT I can't pass up this opportunity. Nashville really isn't in the picture anymore either. Leaning more toward OR. ;)

I was in DC about 2 weeks ago, and I totally forgot you lived there. I know what you mean when you say that town is expensive. Wow!

I would trailer it. Its easier on the car and you wont be filling up two tanks of gas.
                    Im now E30less.

Hahaha. I'm going to tease you about that. The fact I'll have my own place @ 20.....and you're back with your parents 10 years older.

Are they going to let you drink there? and give you a curfrew?? :P (j/k)

Yup why pay the $300 in gas to drive both when you could pay it and save the car the mileage and the worry, but I say ride in the e30 on the trailer, while your friends drive, :D
