can some tell me what size they used for the fram easy oil drain because i can not find an e30 m12 x 1.5 size for sale -
Love using the drain valves. I used to use them a lot in the diesel shop i used to work in. Good to know that I can use them for my car. Save so much time. No over tightening and stripping of threads.Leave a comment:

That looks good. With all these designs the only thing is does it drain the same as removing drain plug. Not leaving more oil behind.
Fram makes something similar, it runs about 20$. You screw in the main part of it into the oil pan and a hose with a special fitting screws onto that that will drain the oil. It looks a little lower profile than the fumotos.

I have experience with the fram fittings, they work well and have a cap to keep dirt and grime out.Leave a comment:

if its made of plastic, remember that oil gets hot, and it will heat/ cool over and over.
plastic does have a shelf life before it gets brittle, so maybe buy a few of em, and replace them every 4 years w/timing belt
just an idea.Leave a comment:

i've used 3 fumoto valves on past cars; they work great but I never used the fiber washers included.
depending on the depth of the threads a lot of subaru people have to file down the last three threads or make a small groove to make sure all the oil drains. If you can get a spring clip for security to place over the valve it's beneficial but not neccesary you can use a small hose clamp. The first one I ever used was so hard i had to open it with a needle nose plier, not really a bad thing. at least it wont open and dump all your oil if something bumps it.
...if that happens you probably have something bigger to worry about.Leave a comment:
