Look what came in the mail!

After a long long wait, I finally received my package from Germany. Bought it on eBay and it seems to be in better than advertised condition.

It's going to be used for a project that will hopefully be revealed @ e30 picnic. Nothing too exciting, but pretty cool IMO.
On a side note, my coffee table was right next to the hitch, so I decided to snap a pic of it as well. Check it out!

Sorry about the poor quality pics

How does that coffee table hold up? I'm thinking of making a similar one. I'm assuming you used plexiglass? How thick?

Haha, sorry about that. It's a factory tow hitch for my late model e30. So I don't have to drill into my cars body... Just bolts right up.

It does surprisingly well... I believe it is .220 plexiglass. In a couple years when it is all scratched up/yellowed from the sun, I'm going to have a glass shop make me a piece that will be pretty much the same. It is also going to be motorized in a few days (hopefully). I'll post a video when it's all up and running.

I guess it's kind of hard to see in the pictures, but the crank and pistons are still in there, so the motor will spin the crank. Basically you'll be able to see the pistons moving up and down slowly. Should be pretty neat though.

That definitely is bad ass. Very, very cool idea.

Haha, yeah, its probably going to be more like 5-15 rpm... depending on the gear ratio I decide to use.
