    Thoughts on this 325

Just want to get everyone's opinion on this car. This would be my first BMW and I've tried to read up as much as I can about these cars in here but the knowledge is not second nature to me as much as it is to many of you fellas. I'm certainly not new in the car scene but know little as far as these cars go. Let me know what you guys think and what else I should be looking out for.

If your budget is only $1000, then go for it. But man - that car need a some work. Sure you want that early style with the f-ed front and read valence?

its just missing its front valence. thats not hard to get at a pick n pull. the 1-2 shift is crappy in every e30 i've driven. thats 8+. so thats not something uncommon.

it looks to be in decent shape. get some SEM trim paint for the bumper surrounds and that will look nice and fresh. tuck the bumpers too. then it'll look even better. (rims+drop, even better.)

for a good running e30, $950 is a decent price. 150k miles is nice. it probably has rust in more places than that, e30s have a few pretty common rust spots. battery tray, bottom of the front fenders, etc.

if you can talk him down more, go for it. i'd try anyway. haha. but $950 is a good price imo.

i'd also eventually get a limited slip differential (lsd) for it.

I'm not too worried about the missing valances. I thought about going for 88+ but my lack of patience is getting the best out of me. Tucked diving boards look pretty decent I think. I don't know...maybe I should wait for an 88+ but most of what I've seen have been considerably more.

if you dont wana spend more then that i dont think you could get any better. its a 5 spd atleast. i paid 1000 for my 85 automatic eta. it had 75000 on it though and needed nothing. i paid 1800 for my 90is but it needed everything!!! if its an I or an IS and your ok with the db bumpers i'd go for it. if its an eta then idk

yeah, just be prepared to do a lot to it before it looks the way you want it to. I've put endless money into my car so far... and it is still on jack stands in the shop with no wheels on it....

Yeah, I don't mind spending the money and doing work on it. It's going to strictly be a project car to tinker with. I have an 08 R32 VW as a daily.

get it for 950. Whatever the problem is, there will be parts to buy on r3v and there is infinite knowledge if you need help. I've been banking on that knowledge haha
