BTW my M42 will be getting a turbo soon and is currently running Megasquirt. For some reason I have a thing for the 4 banger, but it's very difficult to get power out of.
My eta probably weighed about 2500-2600 pounds. Compared to my fat ass 325i.

Are there retro-fit DIYs for plastic bumpers on to pre 88 E30s? I thought you could only swap them onto 88 +...
I don't think there is a DIY, but i'm sure it cant be too hard with some work....measure it...cut it...bondo/epoxy it/sand/paint. Any competant body shop could do it. And for more encouragement...go 2.7i!

i wanna get plastics too...just can't seem to find good plastics. i have it easy tho. <3 my supereta.

Mine wieghs 2750 with the spare tire. I already striped the trunk tar. And for comparison my M3 wieghs 3100 with no spare. :/

I was 16 when I had mine, and I stripped the interior out completely besides the two front sport seats, and all the tar in the car, had no A/C or P/S. Car also did not have abs it was an 84 325e. I miss that car a lot. Mainly because it had a damn LSD, while my 325i has an open diff.

In the beginning, there was a small, lightweight, fun, RWD car...

                ... it's name was the 2002.

i understand wanting a 4cyl... wanting to try out the e30 with such an engine is why i hunted up mine. and i don't regret it in the slightest.

thread is in the project forum, entitled "318ic restore"...

e30 m3 > 318is. Everyone that owns a 318is is too broke to get a e30m3. including myself. So stop with all this nonsense. lol.

A few of my friends went driving with me yesterday (one guy and his wife rode with me in the 318 and the other guy followed on his crotch rocket) We went and hit some back-road twisties (I guess its called the Devil's Triangle) The guy on the bike was frustrated because he had trouble keeping up with me. I never went very fast, but I was able to take the turns so well that I kept good momentum through all of it. The 318is is very toss-able and enjoyable without having to be very powerful. Mines just a good running stock motor with a good condition stock suspension. While the ETA is probably better on gas, I find the 318 a lot more fun. Also, maintaining the M42 is pretty easy. Get a good 318i or is... fix the mess under the intake, maybe get a mark d chip and enjoy!

I spy the corner of a familiar car :)
We need to do it again sometime soon.

Well... I'm happy to tell you guys that I've become terribly ill again - yup, you guessed it. I have the fever.

I just want to buy E30s all day! Wtf is wrong with me?! I found a 91 318is in Sacramento for cheap... besides having some fucking nasty paint, it looks as solid as any car on the internet can look. I want it fuuuuuuck. :(
