Solution: 320is (if it was possible to you to get one)

    In the two door version:

    And the sleeper 4 door:

Under the hood, a 2.0 s14 with 197hp, mated to a dogleg close ratio and (in some cars) A 40% locking LSD, plus m tech suspension.

    Now THAT'S a car

          Well, since you asked..

I bought mine from a friend when I was on vacation at the beach. I drove by, visited him, and gave him $2k for it. He bought this one to build a track car with before tracking down the red non-sunroof 318is he'd been looking for all along. He wanted a red 318is to match his henna M3, and so it worked out for everyone.

This car was fairly worn out when I bought it. The interior was comfortable, but worn out. The exterior had the texture and shine of a chalkboard. The suspension was blown out. The clutch was getting near the end of it's life. But the AC worked and blew ice cold air, so I bought it and drove it all week long. It was a great time. When I got back in town I put new pads, rotors, stainless brake lines, bushings, Bilsteins, H&R springs, a JBR lightweight flywheel, Z3M short shifter, a black vinyl interior, and some other stuff into it. It was a great car. I put 10k miles on it in 7 or 8 months. I drove it down to the 24 hour race at Daytona and averaged 85 mph on the way down (I-90 is a very fast paced highway-- always). The car never missed a beat. I got to drive it on the beach too, which was pretty damn cool.

Anyway, I'll stop my rant there. That was the most 'memorable' E30 that I've ever owned and sold. I traded it for an E36 M3 4-door (because I'm waaaay too nice) and I've regretted it ever since. The last I heard of it is that it was sold to a 16 year old in West Virginia who is obsessed with Trans-Am's. God bless the poor car's soul.

I regret selling mine. Only because it was a non-sunroof, freshly painted Sterling Silver, grey sport cloth interior, rust free car. After having done a swap I am pissed I didn't do it sooner. Sold it to a friend so I get to see it, but I think it would be better if I didn't because he doesn't care for it all that much it seems. Not that he doesn't like it, but the interior is pretty dirty now. I did get a crackless dash and an LSD in my new one which is awesome. I only paid $700 bucks for this one so I can't complain. Just swap the ETA.

The head gaskets are fine on these cars. They did have an issue with the profile gasket failing though, and that would cause miking of oil and coolant. It would happen right around 70k miles, but the part was redesigned and once replaced, they don't ever seem to fail again. Records show mine was replaced at 60k miles ish, and it hasn't been replaced since.
