hmm army huh? yea we in the AF dont get to play with that kinda stuff. u takin a risk puting stuff like this out u know that right -
Risk? what risk? This is the EOD work that we civilians have been hired to do. I have some better videos, but I won't have enough webspace for them for a few more weeks. Between CNN and the daily decible level we create, everyone knows where we are.Don't forget the good things Hitler did.Comment

We do at least one of these blows EVERY day. Two/day is doable and we've even done three of these in one day. We are getting rid of Saddam's ammo/ordnance. Most of the stuff is projectiles, tank ammo, small arms, bombs, missiles....just about everything. 99.9% of his arsenal was/is unsuitable for use. This is the fastest/easiest/most economical way to get rid of it and keep it out of the hands of the bad guys.Don't forget the good things Hitler did.Comment

That particular shot was about 220,000 lbs of munitions and equates out to around 50,000 lbs of Net Explosive Weight (50,000lbs of TNT). That one is pretty much a low average for us. I have a 19.5mb movie that is much better as the camera was mounted on a tripod approx 1km away.
I have another video (don't remember the size) of one of our propellant/small arms burns. The exclusion zone for our 'burn' is 700m. So we are standing there watching the huge fire start and I don't know what happened. A huge explosion goes off and throws igniting VS50 anti personnel mines, exploding 37mm AAA rounds, and misc other flaming debris over our heads with frag landing all around us. It was a "mad scramble" to take some cover. 30 seconds after the blast, it looked like a Smokey and the Bandit scene with F350s and GMC 2500s hauling ass out of there in all crazy directions. We were lucky that day as nobody was injured and no equipment was lost.Don't forget the good things Hitler did.Comment
