Me and my buddy actually thought about this yesterday stoned as sin on the way back from the beach, no speed limits, and all the people that sucked at driving would either A: be dead or B: wouldn't drive.

Aren't we all in it for the fun? Someone builds a nice e30 to look at it, maybe jerk off, others do it to track the car, drift it, rallye it, smash it in a tree. Who gives a fuck? Just go out and have fun however you want as long as you don't kill anyone.
Oh and there's a world championship in sudoku so technically its a sport.

    Stay off of the street!

Find a drift event near you. Sign up. Drift.

BTW, I'm with the drifting is ghey club. Only because kids walk up to me constantly at school and try to convince me to drift, use the phrase "oh, you grip?", and tell me how their hondas are drift machines.

^^ He's referring to the fluid motion that the Jap guys achieve. They are dead smooth for the most part. Driving like that on skinny roads is pretty cool, even though it's old news.

I honestly don't understand what you're saying when you said that. Because when you go to the track and you're sliding you're car, you ARE linking the corners, you're not going around a corner just to powerslide it.

I love me some Touge Racing, and Tsuchiya is my hero. To me though just drifting is like homerun derby, you are just taking one element of a larger sport and trying to make something out of it. Except no one tries to say "Homerun Derby is way cooler than Baseball!" whereas you do have people saying Drifting>Racing.

This is what I considering drifting:

Sliding almost the whole time, connecting every corner and instead of just kicking the tail out then catching it then onto the next corner, each turn is one fluid motion connected from the last. NO ONE can say that doesn't take skill.

The problem is all these stupid kids that watch this shit online and think they can do it. It's a fad right now, even though drifting has been around for ages. It's commercialized now, which is ruining it.
