89 or maybe even 87 with JimC

Anyone ever try running either 87 or 89 with a jimC chip.. a buddy of mine was running 87 no problems in the his chipped e24. Fuel injection wise, i have a m30 afm w/ m20 electronics and ford 19# injectors...

    Thanks

if you can afford a G-tech, you can afford the right gas.

Either your buddy drives like my grandmother or he can't hear or feel his motor getting killed.

Most of the gains from a chip come from more agressive timing which will cause detonation with low octane gas. You need to run at least 91 with most performance chips.

87 is for a stock ECU.. with a chip you need 91, or you may as well go back to stock.

Why bother wasting money buying a JC chip if you're not going to put in the extra effort to keep the engine running properly?

I used electrical tape because I dont know how to take off the trim, I am a check cutter. FYI i went out and got the most expensive tape I could find and threw out the tape in the garbage after I used it for the trim.

Also if you knew Julien a little better you would know why I called him a broke college student I am almost sure he is on the phone with daddy right now who is in Brussels asking for more allowance.
