i have a 128mb 9800pro AIW that was made and distributed by ati, and have not had any problems. i'm using it with xp pro w/sp2 (sp2 was slipstreamed with the windows cd :? ) looking back, i shouldve held out for a mobo with pci-express, but I'm pretty happy with the performance of the 9800pro expecially since it's running stable at 8x agp with fast-write enabled (like it should). the tv recording and tv guide features and a major plus aswell. my only complaint is that the card runs very hot (the vga silencer doesnt fit on AIW's), and i know it's not a case cooling problem.

if you're having problems with stability try turning off fast-write, reduce agp acceleration to 4x, and/ or increase the aperture size.

ive also heard horror stories about ati cards and the VIA 4in1 drivers, so if your mobo runs on a VIA chipset, and you have those drivers installed, you may have to reformat to get rid of them. if you think it is an xp problem, ive heard sp2 has a special agp update that works well with modern ati cards. it's worth a shot to download and try sp2 since you always have the option of removing it, unlike me.

Hah, the thing is I have just reformatted in an attempt to fix this problem. I have XP Pro with SP2 now, plus the 4in1 drivers (which I was told to get). I guess I could downgrade the 4in1 drivers because I have my mobo cd. Oh well, I'll send it in first and see what happens.
Me: "I can't wait to redline my car!"
Mark: "Didn't you just break a rocker arm?"
Me: "Yeah, I don't think I've learned my lesson."
        Mark: "You never will."

the 4in1 drivers are a very bad idea. some people have had no luck with uninstalling them and the only way to get rid of them is to reformat. there is a possiblity though that the sp2 agp drivers will over write them. who told you to get the 4in1 drivers? even VIA's webiste warns against them with use of ati products. i'm also using VIA chipset with a 9800pro and am having no problems, so even though the 4in1 drivers were included on my mobo's cd they defiinately arent necessary.

            I have a Radeon All-In-Wonder 8500LE (128MB) AGP

I've never had ANY problems with it, hell I broke the cooling fan on it (so its bare heatsink now) and it still runs in tip top shape!

I love my 8500 so much I think I'll be ATI biased for the rest of my life :D

Ive got the same card, no problems so far and ive had it for a while now. I love it.

My last nvidia card was a pos, and i had countless problems with it jsut not being compatable with certain games.

With HL2 my system stress tests at 105 FPS.

although my system is pretty sexy ;)

The instruction manual told me to do so, lol. I can always "roll back" the drivers.
