    Headlight protectors

3 years ago or so, I bought some like new ellipsoid lights from North Carolina. I've had them on my car the entire time now fitted with xenon lights. When I got them they were crystal clear.

Recently, I noticed my headlights were starting to yellow. Fuck it, I'll just replace the headlights and upgrade to H1 with a better xenon kit.

I was just about to upgrade when I took another look at my lights and discovered only the covers had yellowed. 20 minutes and a razor blade was all it took to get off the headlight covers and make my lights look new again.

I'm tempted to buy replacement covers to protect the lights, but I'm wondering if the high heat from my Xenons will cause them to yellow and crack again. The lights had the covers on them for quite some time when I bought them, but yellowed pretty fast. It had to have been due to the Xenons or Arizona sun.

BTW: When I was scraping these off with a razor blade, I got a really nasty smell from the dust. WTF are these things made of?

Zenons are only running at 35w vs. the stock 55/60w bulbs so you're generating less heat.

I have had no yellowing problems with my covers, both zenon or conventional. I'm betting its more the sun.. Arizona heat is tough of cars :)

laminX for me, i think they gave me one's for sealed beams (round) even though i told them to give me euro ellip one's (flat) so the fit wasnt great (i had to trim)

BMP has the covers on sale for 27 bucks, and acc. to its description, the covers do not yellow.

                Ditto.

My HID lights are a HELL of a lot cooler than the stock halogens I had in there. Im tempted to buy a 3000k fog kit so I dont have to risk my fogs cracking from the heat of the 80w yellow Hella bulbs.
                Im now E30less.
