    emiata.com convertible rear window

I just picked up an 87 vert. I was looking at getting a window kit from here ---> http://www.bmw-convertible-window.com/E30Window.asp

i have seen a few people installed them in a few hours or 3 days. I am looking for feedback or photos of a window before the install without the old rear plastic in. I want to make sure I can just sew a new window in and my top isnt screwed up. I just picked the car up and the tops in decent shape--missing headliner and rear window though.

I have the zip in style. The window itself is great. They instruct you to tuck the top into the new window canvas and use glue to bond the two but it doesn't look all that great. At $150 shipped I guess I can't complain too much.

I picked one kit from emiata. The window is great. Sewing it in was slow and painful. I did it by myself though. Next time I'm buying the entire top .

Am I the only person astonished that Emiata is charging $60 for a zipper? That's the difference in costs. Jesus... how much are buttons?

The zip in window has the teeth sewn on to the new window canvas. Makes sense that it's more expensive. Makes installation VERY easy to do with 2 people. We got it done in less than 20 minutes only because we got it lined up perfectly the first time. Have you seen what BMW is charging for their replacement window? I think it was like $500-800!!!

You get what you pay for. The emiata top is very cheesy around the edges, where the canvas + glue is supposed to happen. The OEM top is indeed $5-600 but looks factory.

The $600 BMW window makes spending $$ for a hardtop less painful!

What we need is something in the middle-ground.
