    Fun with English Cars

Nat and I hit The Gathering at Shelton (big English marque show in Dobson, NC) yesterday. Nat presented the Princess Vanden Plas he's been restoring, and it got a lot of attention. (will try to post pix of it later)

We sponsored the car wash area on Friday afternoon - got to meet some really nice folks and saw some great cars:

Wish I'd taken more pix - we were busy!

Saturday was the first time we used our full setup for a show:

Also the first day I got to sport the new "GlossHaus Collection":

All in all, it was a great day at the car show. Unfortunately it wasn't a great day for my car. This apparently happened during dinner...

Ugh, I've had someone hit my DD in the same spot, same way, though not as badly as that. I assume that happened with someone backing out of a parking spot? It looks like the bumper stood up very well, unfortunately the rest of the panel didn't...

We need stricter driving tests, or official ball-kickers to handle this sort of thing.

          No note

We were at a diner in downtown Dobson, and there were lots of older folks. What is really weird is that we were parked on a row that only had 1 other car (a Viper) and had nobody near us. I can only figure someone was turning around and didn't make it or was cutting through the parking lot and turned a little early. I don't understand why there is so much damage low - a bad ending to a good day. Get to talk to the insurance folks today, but I've heard USAA is very cool about claims - guess I'll find out.

Touring initial estimate was $2K, with some likely upside...

Hoping I sell a lot of our new detailer now...
