Oh the irony. I went to H.S. in Zion, am in the Air Force, and drive an E30 M3.

No you cant have mine. No you wont find a US Spec E30 M3 over here. No you wont be able to afford a euro spec E30 M3.

Sorry I crushed your dreams. Whats your job?

      check here

ohh the irony X2. I am from Illinois, here in Germany, and have a euro M3-- and no you cannot have mine either.

I can say that a good friend of mine here just bought an M3 out of Cali. and had it shipped over here because it is cheaper that way in the long run.

crazy enough there is a cali u.s. M3 listed on that site. for 19,000 dollars.

The last time someone told us to have faith resulted in a 21 page thread full of LOLs and the OP getting screwed over.

#1, sign up on S14.net if you're serious about getting an E30 M3... Start looking at prices for the cars on that site, plus all the other bimmer sites and craigslist type sites. When you do that, you'll see its extremely rare to find an e30 M3 under $15K. Sure they can be had, but they tend to need quite a bit of work to bring them up to snuff. (Im not even talking about the 15K rule, i don't really believe in that, it should be more like 20K)

#2, Check out the german car sales sites. You'll find that most of them are around 15K Euro, which is just under 20K USD. And that is for a EURO spec car, which would cost even more to get ready to bring to the US... I wont even get into all the BS about bringing a euro E30 to america, its been covered 100 times.

#3, I've only known of 3 US Spec E30 M3's in europe. One being mine, the other Yan's (which is now stateside) and one in Ireland which had 30K original miles and the owner wouldn't even think of selling for less than 30K EURO. RUMOR was there was another US Spec e30 M3 on ramstein, silver of some sort, but all attempts to see it were met with negative results.

BASICLY long story short, as you research more, you'll see that you'll want a US Spec E30 M3, and finding one in europe is EXTREMELY rare, those of us that have them know what they are and wont be willing to sell for very cheap. Then again, I got similar advice, and found one for under 7K US Dollars... But I am the exception, it was incredibly, extremely, crazy that I was able to get it for that price.

When you eventually find one, or rather if you eventually find one, know that the initial cost of purchase isn't the expensive part. I'd hope you'd have the cash to buy one outright, as you likely wont get a loan for this old of a car either. As for me being negative, don't take what I, or anyone else is saying as negativity, its reality.

lets just say, for the same price you can get a much faster m3.

It's funny how expensive they are.... You won't even imagine how much I got mine for. I daily drive it like it's any regular car. Good luck with finding one.

You can join the armed forces. You'll probably spend a few hours/daysin germany on your way to the sandtrap for 15 months. When you get home you still won't have enough money for an m3.

Kershaw...e46? Are you trying to make a joke?

I bought mine with deployment money, lots of folks do. Its realistic, but better if you get it in the US, and take it with you when you get stationed in Germany.

http://www.s14.net/forums/showthread.php?t=43513 this is your best bet, its in Italy. You can thank my wife for remembering this thread...

$8,500 Decent price, especially for it being US Spec overseas. But its in rough shape. You're looking at some repairs, and most costly new paint.

I toyed with picking this car up, but I'm ETSing... Otherwise it was going to be a dedicated track car. It would be cheaper (IMO) to gut it and do a cheap paint job than to try and restore it... Though what do I know?
