    S14 swapped e30's

how common are these? would you swap an s14 over an m30 or m50? say i found a decent e30 m3 in the jy.

Weight wise I would. But it's nothing compared to what power you can get from an m30 or m50. But that's just my opinion

It would make no sense unless the m3 is just beyond repair. Otherwise I am going to bank that another motor besides the s14 is more cost effective and more power.

Someone has clearly never informed this poor soul on what the average rebuild cost of an S14 runs, not to mention the regular maintenance of one.

I'm all for the S14 but I must admit they don't make much sense to swap in a standard E30, mainly due to cost. They are what the M3's are known for. With that said, there are a few E30's with S14 swaps out there.

              Exactly.

That is why it is wise to have a spare one just in case!!!

Exactly. If you're going to swap an S14 into something, do it into something insane like a 2002 or an E21. :D

I bet having one in an old Mini would be fun but then it is going to be cheaper to just get one of those Super Fast Minis and that would still be handful.

Mini takes to Honda's easier...transverse design vs inline.

There is a mitsu evo somwhere with an s14 turbo swapped in it lol. Anyhow, I think the sd14 is a very cool engine, but there are so many more powerfull cheaper engines you could swap. Even keeping in the BMW family

If I found an m3 at a junkyard, I'd take everything I could from it regardless of whether I needed it
