TP-Link is a great company, I got this for a client's laptop and works perfectly. Significantly higher signal boost. Should be perfectly fine. Personally I would suggest upgrading your router to a Netgear Wireless N setup. I've never been a fan of linksys.

Not much at all. I have to run what ever card is supported by my software vendor, Avid. It's all video editing stuff, so they write their software to be hardware accelerated by the video card, specifically Nvivia. I have a quatro FX 1400 - and will add an old matrox g450(?) for a third display. Next time I upgrade I'll get a quatro fx 3800.

One last thing I need is a good software KVM solution so I can run a ubuntu on an old dell box with out all the mess of the cables. Anyone?

EDIT: I guess i need a VNC? I want KVM over lan, not just KM.

There's a company called "Alpha" That makes 500mW usb adapters that actually require 2 USB ports. They also have a standard Antenna connector (I forget the name of it) so you can buy a high gain antenna. I had one for a couple of years before I lost it but that thing was amazing; I could get a solid connection on Access points 100 ft away, and detect ones almost twice that distance. And if I remember correctly it uses a realtek chipset which makes it perfect for cracking WEP/WPA if you're into that kind of thing.
