For those of you with OEM Trailer Hitches

I'm in the market for a trailer hitch for my plastic bumper e30. I like the idea of the factory hitch as it doesn't require drilling holes in the body. However, it seems as though the ball is a smaller diameter than those we normally see in the US. Question: if my trailer is set up for the larger size ball is there an adaptor or other solution to get it to work.

    TIA

the ball is smaller because it's a class 1 hitch. if you want to tow more than that, use a truck.

I'll just be towing a couple of dirt bikes. I've actually done this before with my old 88is (with an auto and diving boards) and it was fine. I'm a little more protective of my current e30 which is why I'd prefer not to drill it full of holes.

Thanks for the info. Am I correct in assuming that I just need to get a Class I receiver for the trailer?

              Cheers,
              Joe

My hitch is from U-haul. Class I. I've towed my KTM up and down the mountains no problem.

That pic looks like it was taken somewhere else besides Miami :)
