Quick question: Use paint adhesion improver before painting intake/VC??

Should I use adhesion promoter prior to painting intake/valve cover.

Painting with high temp crinkle black.
Will the adhesion promoter be temp appropriate, and not start to flake once heated in the engine bay and cause the paint to peel off?

Please respond if you have done/ used this ...either way. Good or poor results.

    Thanks!!

I use Harley Davidson crinkle finish and sprayed it straight on the valve cover and it still is the same as the day I sprayed it 2yrs ago

just hit the intake with a scuff pad but i'd prep the vc a little more with 400 or something first.

Before you scuff Make sure you clean the fuck out of it! Take most of the grease off with some kind of degreaser. Then use lacquer thinner acetone, MEK or gunwash, some kind of high powered solvent to really get it squeaky clean before you start scuffing. I would also suggest wearing gloves while scuffing so as not to rub your finger oils into the freshly scuffed surface. Then wipe it down again with solvent. These steps will help you get the best adhesion possible.
