...you will not find a "GTI" rally. They is no such thing. Try looking for a "GOLF" rally. Be prepared to shell out BIG BUCKS - IF you can find one. I'm not sure if they ever came to the US or not. I could be wrong though.Comment

As far as i know they were never imported here to the US so the ones here r normally built cars. People would take a GTI and get all the body panels ship over from europe. As for a real one. Find one in europe and ship i home. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$Comment

golf limited may have had the best engine, but the flare treatment on the rallye has always killed me.
it's a watercooled VW, who gives a shit what engine it came with, those cars are built like legos. swap in whatever you want.
i'm switching to active duty this summer and am seriously considering requesting a spot in germany just so i can import 2 RHD euro-spec cars a year. the possibilities are endless... pick your flavor of whatever-we-never-got-here. golf rallye, 325ix touring, e36m3 with a real engine, impreza wrx with a real engine, etc...past:
