I think there is an advantage..... what I feel is that when in the in car view you know where the turn actually starts... as opposed to behind the car view where you are looking at where the turn starts from 10 VGF away (VGF= Viedo game feet).

Point. Yeah, that might be why I prefer it, because I am used to looking for an apex over a dash/fender anyway. The angle is also more familiar. I dont often drive my car 20 feet off the ground.

I tried it.......... nothing great the turn in is hard.
Actually my friend used to have a firebird with T tops so once in a while to fuck with people I would stand on the back seat and lean over over and steer while my head was over the roof... it would piss people off for some reason but I liked it because my friend would tickle me nipps.
OHHHHH to be young and stupid.... instead of old and dumb.
Finally, a place to voice my argument for the OUTSIDE the car view.
Here's my number one problem with the in-car view of car racing games. They are not an in-car view at all. Rather, what you get is the "I'm strapped to the leading edge of the hood of a car" view. You have almost NO reference as to where the sides of your car are. The only way I can drive well in racing games to be outside and behind the car (the closest setting, if there are any). I have to be able to see where the outsides of my car are in relation to walls, other drivers, etc. If there were a TRUE in-car view, with a slight view of the dash, maybe the a-pillars, and the hood / fenders, as you seen when normally driving a car, I would love to try it that way. But as of yet, no racing games have offered this.
