A friend of my dad's hired someone to fix his convertable Jaguar XKE after an oak tree fell across it, collapsing it in the middle. It cost him like $30,000 just for the body work. This could definitely be fixed, but is it worth it to you?

        Adrian_Visser: what "frame"?
Okay smartass the fucking unibody thank you so much for correcting me. The whole trunk section is most likely tweaked from that hit. Even if you cut and weld a whole new rear quarter in (and there would be alot of cutting and even more welding) the whole trunk section right across probably isn't straight anymore.

He is right on this. He has to check how far the damage traveled. The car won't ever be a show car, but depending on how bad it is, it can make a decent daily.

That kind of inner structure damage can be pulled back out on a rack though. My car's a good example. Right front damage was well into the inner structure, enough so that the A/C filter drier and associated lines were crushed. The average Joe would be hard pressed to notice anything irregular even though none of that metal was replaced, only pulled back out. Luckily for me the car's value at the time of collision was still high enough to warrant the repair by the PO's insurer.

Also, it looks to me like most of the damage to the quarter panel is well above the trunk floor.

You can fix anything. It is not worth buying that car for $850, putting $4000 into bodywork and having a car that's worth $1850 IMHO.

thats not bad looking actually...ive done some body work before, it can definitely be saved as it its, my first e30 i bought had damage on the back, the trunk was down about an inch and it looked horrible...the panels were half an inch from hitting the tire...500 bucks to fix it, including the frame....but if it doesnt too much frame damage it will be a good deal..id say 700 is a good deal for it.... or alternative going to the junkyard cutting the read panel, but thats a lot of work involved..id say fix it as it is just roll the fenders since its already squished....you can get a deal specially now that a lot of shops dont have much work..

heres some pictures...the only picture i can find where you can kind of see the damage..all the damage was in the back, but the panel i guess received the forced and bent and was sticking out...
bodywork was ok not bad for 500 just the line wasnt as straight but better than having the panel sticking out....

                      before...

when my neighbor tried to fix it...for 20 bucks lol temporary fix

you can still see how the its sticking out a bit

after i got it fixed paid 500 for everything with paint...

Well seeing as the trunk part has the most damage, I can easily fix that. The frame itself doesn't have much damage besides the fender part. When inside the trunk, you can't see nor tell that there is any damage at all. I still wouldn't go with it anyways because there is no grill, steering wheel, shift boot + knob, no side markers, no tail lights, and of course getting her re-registered and smoged is going to be a pretty penny. And he's not even throwing in those bbs rims.

dang in that case id say 400 for it lol
you mentioned it doesnt come with a few things then its not worth buying for more than 400, parting it would be the best option here...since i doubt hell sell it soon....
